Witness the fun and learning in designing an efficient line for the robot to follow!
The event comprises of a track laid in black strip on white sheet, having a starting and finishing line with some intermediate checkpoints.
The Rulebook
1. A maximum of 8 members per team would be allowed in the competition.
2. The arena for the line following robot will be given on the day of the competition, comprising the following:
A) at any particular node, a maximum of only 2 paths will be present, so the robot has to make a decision to travel along one of the paths.
B) a minimum of one (1) red light will be present along any node on the arena ,and the robot could either :
i)stop for 30 seconds
ii) change its path (ie) it should move along the other path of the node.
iii)backtrack to the path from where the robot reached the node.
C) Failure to move the robot as per the above choices would lead to disqualification of the robot from the competition.
3. The robot should start from the ‘start’ position and should reach the ‘end’ position, and should then start from the ‘end’ position and reach the ‘start’ position. Reaching the ‘start’ position by the robot within the stipulated time would complete the task, else it would be termed incomplete.
4. The robot can have a maximum of 2 sharp infrared sensors.
5. The robot can have a maximum of four (4) white line sensors.
6. The judging criteria would be on the following parameters
A. Simplicity on the creation of the robot
B. Power efficieny of the robot
C. Speed of the robot
On the basis of above 3 parameters, the judging and marking would be done and the team with the highest marks would be declared the winner of the competition.
